“I use the PVC Posts from Duncan Equine, they don’t chew them, turns up, no painting is needed, drill it on and put it up. I did it because we wanted to move into spelling horses, we had expensive horses to break in and we wanted good safe horse fencing to spell the horses in. A lot of our paddocks do have laneways, but some do have a single fence in between and we haven’t had any injuries or any problems with them fighting over the fence, and I think it’s because it carries a lot of current.

I do the fencing myself, it’s really easy to put up, your rail just runs out off a spinner and then you just teck screw your bracket onto the post and it goes up quickly and I think that’s the biggest benefit with it, how quick you can put it up.”

“Here at Belltrees we are the White family with over 7 generations and we’ve been here for over 170 years. We are mainly a cattle and sheep farm and we are now diversifying into the thoroughbred industry and with horses and are upgrading the farm and fencing.

Timber is getting harder and harder to source especially at great quality. We’ve taken the step to go with Duncan Equine and I think it’s the all round fence. It’s safe, its got longevity and we love the look of it as well. We are looking to do a lot more fencing with horse agistment and polo breeding and I think this fence covers all equine disciplines and horse breeds.”

“The main thing for us is safety not only for Rosemont horses but also for client horses, so safety is paramount for them and the durability of it as well, once it’s done you never have to touch it.

The amount of rail we’ve put in, you don’t want to be repeating that every 5 or 10 years. What we’ve put in along the river, we had a couple of floods this time last year, we were pretty much underwater and there was very minimal repair we had to do after the two lots of floods within 3 weeks.

So the last two years we’ve probably done 40% of the farm in Stallion Rail and will probably endeavor to do the whole lot eventually. Simon and the crew are great to work with and that comes out in their work when you go there. This is a perfect product for us and a good relationship.”
